Highlights of 2017 Fall Festival Luncheon

The RMD hosts an annual Awards Luncheon each fall to recognize our Colorado All-Star athletes as well as key volunteers.  The 2017 Fall Festival Awards Luncheon was held at the La Quinta in Silverthorne, Colorado on Sunday,October 15.

Ninety athletes representing all three disciplines that compete under the RMD umbrella – Alpine, Freestyle and Jumping/Noridic Combined – were presented Spyder jackets. In addition, 50 of the top-qualifying athletes in Alpine and Freestyle were awarded annual ski passes, due to the generosity of both Colorado Ski Country USA and Vail Resorts.  These All-Star passes greatly enhance the training opportunities of some of Colorado’s most talented young snow-sport athletes. The RMD board and our member athletes and parents greatly appreciate the support of Colorado Ski Country USA and Vail Resorts.  Click  2017 All Star List to view a list of all 2017 RMD All Stars.

In addition, awards were given by each discipline to key volunteers, racing clubs and high-achieving athletes.  The luncheon culminated with the presentation of the Halstead Award by RMD President Roger Perricone. The Halstead Award which was first awarded in 1943 is the most prestigious and long-standing award given to individuals who have provided outstanding leadership and support of snow sports in Colorado.  This year’s winner was Darlene Nolting.  Congratulations to Darlene and thank you for your hard work, passion and dedication to supporting the growth of snow sports in Colorado.
